Death Metal

Music is something that speaks to the hears and souls of many. It is a wonderful sensation that can bring out many emotions from calming and relaxing to upbeat and lively. There are just so many genres out there for every type of person and mood.

The one genre that always confused me though was Death Metal. From the title to the distortion of the instruments it is both scary and wonderful.

For this next project, I will be constructing a photograph on death metal. In this one shot, I will be shooting a doll that brings out the feeling I get when I think of the genre death metal.

What genre or artist is your favorite when it comes to music?

  1. I like older stuff like Simon & Garfunkel for singing along in the car, and hip hop like Macklemore for exercise. I couldn't name one single death metal band or song, though.

  5. Well, my very favorite band is Metallica, and they are metal, but I'm not sure they're death metal. :)
Other than Metallica, though, I like all kinds of music, really, but I listen most to acoustic/indie/folk music.

  17. I like 40s style big band music (the kind you hear in Astaire-Rogers movies) and 50s rock&roll (like Rock Around the Clock). There's a lot of pop I like from the 80s, like Fleetwood Mac, too. Definitely no death metal or acid rock or hip-hop though.

  19. What a cool idea for a project. When it comes to genres and artists, I can't say that I have a favorite as there are favorite songs in pretty much every decade and style. I love Metallica, Avett Brothers, 80's music, Maroon Five, and so much more.
Focusing on Death Metal for your project is going to be awesome. I can't wait to see it.

  20. Death metal is so freaky. I dated a guy in a band back in my college days. They opened for a death metal and aptly named Death. Oh my! The singer sounded like the Cookie Monster and I couldn't understand a word. However the groove of the music was fantastic! Today I enjoy just about any type of music depending on my mood.

  22. I'm all over the place. 80's music reminds me of my brother and sister and them driving me around in their cars. 90's pop makes me nostalgic for high school. Country reminds me of my hubby. Taylor Swift, Pink and Kelly Clarkson are songs I can sing a long to with my daughters.

But of course, that would work very well for your kind of work! (maybe you should incorporate bloody ears! lol!)

  32. Hi there! I love that you're working on a project that is based on something that you have mixed reactions about. I think it will make your work that much more interesting. Hmm, you're making me think :)
As far as music, I like a lot of it but would turn on talk radio first. Strange, I know ;) xo

  36. Can't wait to see what you come up with! The music of my formative years was '80s pop and Ska. I'm also really drawn to the glam rock and classic rock of the '70s. What I listen to most though, are soundtracks from my favourite movies and TV shows. It's a long-term obsession: 'Buffy', 'Supernatural', 'Moonlight', 'Beetlejuice', 'Dark Shadows'... I could go on... and on... I relive the shows/movies through the music. Weird, I know! ;D
